Steve Harvey, the host of the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show, can’t count the number of impressive women he’s met over the years, whether it’s through the Strawberry Letters segment of his program or while on tour for his comedy shows. I enjoyed Steve’s take on relationships; howevever, this book appears to be targeted towards women under 40. Most women I know have “gotten it” by that time so you want to gag on some of the advice. By then you know better than to give up on your own dreams to build your guys dreams. Men should be able to fulfill their own dreams without requiring their lady to give up hers.

The Truth and Nothing But The Truth

It took me a while to get this book because I kept telling myself that I didn’t want to read another book about relationship drama and how to fix it. Steve Harvey did a great job breaking it down for the ladies and he did offer a lot of helpful advice. Some of the things many of us already knew, but it helps to say these things over and over so that we get it. I think more than anything I felt as if Mr. Harvey was being very straightforward with his approach to help us see relationships for what they really should or should not be. I highly recommend this book to others.

I loved this book. I just finished it yesterday. Steve Harvey is funny and tells the truth. I wish I would have read this back when I first started dating. It would have helped me a lot. Now I know all the things I did wrong! But I am happily married now and have two sons. I will have them read this book when they are older to give them more knowledge on how to treat a lady. And if I have any daughters I will definitely have them read it.
Don’t waste your time

I am a 49 year old single Father of 2 wonderful children (b-21, g-24) and the first time I heard aboutht this book was when I was asked the series of questions by a woman I was JUST starting to date. I laughed at the questions she asked because they seemed so pedantic. And a tip off that she was merely looking for a guy to take care of her. Sugar Daddy. I have a very successful business I founded 15 years ago, am in top physical condition, college educated, well travelled and had the majority/full custody of both kids for 18 years. 10 minutes spent with me and you know I have done at least OK. The question is definitely not what I can accomplish—for me and many men nowadays it’s more a question of what does a woman bring to the equation. The problem with this book is it marginalizes both men and women. Men are more than providers and women have more to offer than just sex. When this woman said that she “knows” that a man feel best when he is taking care of a woman, I had to ask where THAT came from. I have met several other women who have glommed on to this book. They will get what they deserve from following its nonsense.
All this book will do is further the myth that a man has to pay big bucks, continually have to prove himself, and protect a woman from having to be independent (read, paramour) in order earn the “cookie”
Any guy who refers to it as the, “cookie” proves just how little respect he has for all the other wonderful attributes a good woman has.
Harvey is a funny guy on stage. His book is less so.
Funny and Informative!

I really enjoyed this humorous and insightful book. I learned a few new things but mostly it just reiterated what I already knew and reminded me to stick to my guns, to keep asking questions, to put my foot down when I have to, to know when to walk away, and most importantly set and stick to my own standards. (A lot of women KNOW what to do, but just don’t do it. . .) This is a very basic book that anyone should be able to understand and implement into their lives. I highly recommend it to every women, especially for young girls to read and get it stuck in their brains to learn it NOW, rather than later. I think the hardest part of Steve’s advice is letting the wrong men go. Especially if the woman really likes the man. She will have to smarten up, know that she deserves better and let him go or else she will be signing herself up for unnecessary future heartache. The only negative things I can point out about this book off the top of my head is that it is very repetitive, but hey repetitive can be a good thing since so many people don’t GET IT the first time something is said. Anyone who thinks this book sets women back centuries is mistaken. This book does not bring women down one bit, it empowers us, remind us to command (not demand) respect at all times, encourages us to take control, put our requirements out there, stand up for who we are, and what we know we deserve and not to settle for anything less! If he writes another book, I will surely buy it.

I feel that everyone needs a little advice when it comes to relationships. Steve Harvey’s book gives you insight into the mind of a man. Most of the things I already knew, but some of it was new. I also like Steve as a comedian. I like the fact that it was a small book. I passed it on to a couple of my friends. Good Job!
For All the Women Who REALLY Want to Know How Men Think

It’s a simple book with a basic no brainer approach to understanding the male species. Steve Harvey has his 90-day probationary rule and advises women not to “put out” before that time. He says you are worth the wait. He calls it the “cookie.”
The book helps women get into the mind-set of a man by listing three important facts on how a man looks at himself: Who he is, what he does, and how much money he makes.
Harvey also adds three things that every man needs in a relationship from a woman.
Support, loyalty, and the “cookie.”
I call the “cookie” dessert. From a male’s standpoint, it’s the reward for his hard-working dollars. If a woman isn’t providing sex to her man, Harvey claims he WILL go elsewhere. It’s a simple tough-love formula and a terrific book.

Black and White

Steve is telling it “Black and White”. He don’t mix his words or color coat it. The things he is staying are real. Hearing it from a man who has achieved his goals gives it real depth. I am very happy that I purchased this book. When my daughter us old enough to read it I will encourage her to do so. This book is a real treasue.
Full of TRUTH

When I picked up this book, I was already not taking it seriously. Afterwards, I have to admit that this is a straight forward, to the point, no BS, easy read. Yeah, there are funny parts, but he is serious about helping women who have been duped into thinking that men and women are just alike. He exposes that game that men play with women to get what they want in the shortest time possible while giving as little as possible. He admits that the term “golddigger” was created by men so women would hesitate about asking a man for anything (aka have no standards while giving the man everything he wants. WTF?!?!?). He has done relationship segments on ABC’s Good Morning America which he has given advice that is about on the same level that a father should give to his daughter.
The ONLY problem I have with this book is the 90 day period that a women should give a man before she sleeps with him. Waiting until she is married is much better!!!!

This book was great reading. I had fun reading it and learned a lot even though I thought I knew it all. Based on the things said in this book my husband gets a ten. I would recommend it to everyone especially young adult daughters.
I wish more women especially wives would read this before totally screwing up their marriage.
